| WGTA Kudos 2009 - 2010 | ||
The WGTA and
it's membership are a recipient of NYSUT's Local Community Service
Award, symbolic of the local's "collective and sustained contribution
to community service."  September 2009 West Genesee Teachers Win Prize
of $1000 Scholarship West Genesee teachers won the Scholastic Challenge Award for the Large School Division in this year's Corporate Challenge Run/Walk. In addition to a plaque, this also means a $1000 scholarship for one of our students!
October 2009 Members Donate to Holy Family
Food Pantry WGTA members attending the Fall Fling donated over 1,000 food items to the Holy Family Food Pantry. Thank you for your generosity! December 2009 Fling Attendees Donate Toys On December 10th active and retired West Genesee Teachers celebrated a Christmas Fling at McNamara's. Staff members donated money and over 1,000 canned goods for the food pantry at St. Cecillia's.
February 2010 Lots of Kudos! - Enhancements to the dental and health care plans
were negotiated.
April 2010 New Contract Ratified A new WGTA contract was ratified with a 98.1% approval
rating. Spring Fling Active and retired West Genesee Teachers recently celebrated a Spring
Fling at McNamara's. Staff members donated money and many canned
goods for the food pantry at St. Cecillia's.
